Exhibitors and visitors background
CIMPS-Europort and OTE counted 617 exhibitors in total; 248 of which originated from Jiangsu province (40%), 302 exhibitors from other provinces (49%) and 67 overseas exhibitors (11%) from 18 countries and regions e.g.: The Netherlands, Singapore, Korea, Japan, USA, Denmark, Austria, Malaysia, Germany, France, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Brazil, Italy, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
515 exhibitors participated in CIMPS-Europort 2012 in the following categories: Brand Zone, Shipbuilding, Fishing Technology & Equipment, Offshore Engineering, Shipyard equipment, Welding and Cutting, Marine Steel and Shipbuilding Materials, Painting and Antisepsis Material and Equipment. 102 exhibitors participated in OTE 2012 representing the following categories: Drilling Platform, Offshore Wind Energy, Underwater Engineering, Marine Structure, Marine Construction, Offshore Equipment, Oil and Gas Drilling and Production.
CIMPS-Europort & OTE 2012 have welcomed 8,367 professional visitors and buyers from 24 countries and regions, 1,422 of whom came from Europe, America, Southeast Asia, Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan, accounting for 17% of the total.

Conferences and activity programs
☆A series of dynamic events was held during CIMPS-Europort & OTE 2012, including The 4th China Forum on the Development of Steel for Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, The Marine Environmental Protection and Security Forum cum Deep-sea Engineering Industry Summit, the 8th TradeWinds Shipping China Conference, the China Forum on the Development of Fishing Boat Equipment and Technology, the 3rd Matchmaking with Chinese Shipbuilding & Offshore Industry.
☆Furthermore, special trade missions have been organized to Nantong (HME trade mission) and Taizhou (INSA trade mission) areas.
 
Strong overseas support
☆Overseas associations such as the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA), Hongkong Shipowners Association, Association of American Shipowners and Singapore Shipping Association have all invited ship owners to visit CIMPS-Europort & OTE 2012. INSA organized a trade mission group of 43 ship owners to visit the Jiangsu shipbuilding industrial base.
 
Military buyers group
☆As a supporter of the exhibition, The Navy Equipment Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army has organized Naval Vessel Section representatives and military representatives from Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd., Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd., HuDong-ZhongHua Shipbuilding(Group) Company Ltd., 426 Factory, 704 Research Center, ect., to visit the fair again and to attend the conferences and events.
 
Domestic buyer groups
☆The Maritime Safety Administration, Ship Inspection Administration and Ocean and Fisheries Bureau of Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Jiangsu organized professional visitors to attend.
☆Also cooperation institutes such as the China Shipowner’s Association, China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, The Chinese Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, China Dredging Association, Shanghai Shipbrokers Association helped to attract professional visitors.
☆The Organization Committee set a special buyers invitation center to invite buyers and professional visitors.
 
Mainstream media promotion
☆The Organization Committee has cooperated with more than 100 Chinese media partners and more than 40 overseas media partners including
Tradewinds, Ship&Offshore, Motorship, Korship, Shipbuilding Industry and so on. Over 100 media attended CIMPS-Europort & OTE 2012 to make reports during the exhibition.

Opening Ceremony
On May 23, 9:30 am, the Opening Ceremony of CIMPS-Europort & OTE 2012 was grandly held in the Nanjing International Expo Center. The Deputy Secretary General of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, Mr. Wang Zhizhong, upholded the opening ceremony, and the Director of Bureau of Fisheries of Ministry of Agriculture, PRC, Mr. Zhao Xingwu, the General Secretary of INSA, Mr. Paulis Amin Djohan and the CEO of Ahoy Rotterdam Mr. Jos van der Vegt delivered speeches. The Mayor of Nanjing city, Mr. Ji Jianye announced the opening of the exhibition.  The 4th China Forum on the Development of Steel for Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering
The 4th China Forum on the Development of Steel for Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering was held in the White Palace Hotel, Nanjing, on May 22. It was organized by the Chinese Society Of Naval Architects And Marine Engineering and attracted more than 100 big Steel Corporations, including Nanjing Steel, Baosteel, Rizhao Steel, Chongqing Iron & Steel, Laiwu Steel and more than 20 big Shipbuilding Corporations, including CSIC, BSHIC, Ch Rongsheng, Wujiazui Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, Nanjing Jinling Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The Forum covered the development of the steel industry, production of shipbuilding steel and trends in international shipping. An analysis was given on a.o. the requirements and needs for offshore engineering steel in China, corrosion-resistant steel and welding performance of high strength ship plates.
 Marine Environmental Protection and Security Forum cum Deep-sea Engineering Industry Summit
Sponsored by Beijing UEL & IBI Co.Ltd, the Marine Environmental Protection and Security Forum cum Deep-sea Engineering Industry Summit was held on May 22 at Fangyuan Jinling Plaza Nanjing. Deputy Director of the Energy Research Institute National Development and Reform Commission, Mr. Jiang Xinmin, Chief Councellor of the China Petroleum & Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association, Mr. Zhao Zhiming, Researcher of the China Marine Engineering Corporation, Mr. Zhao Gengxian attended the conference and delivered a speech. In-depth discussions were held about prevention of oil and gas leaks, high-end environmental protection and security equipment.
 8th TradeWinds Shipping China Conference
The 8th TradeWinds Shipping China Conference was successfully held at the Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai on May 22 with the attendance of many maritime leaders such as Immediate Past President of BIMCO, Mr. Robert Lorenz-Meyer, President of CCS, Mr. Sun Licheng, Vice President and Area Chairman for Greater China, Mr. Jörg Beiler, Vice President of Global Gas Development ABS, Mr. William J. Sember, Chairman & CEO of the Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, Mr. Simon Liang, and a group v.i.p.s. from DNV, GL, RINA, ClassNK, Norges Bank, Tai Chong Cheang Steamship Co (H.K.) Ltd, Grenland Group ASA, BNP Paribas, Wha Kwong Shipping, Pacific Basin Shipping. The delegates discussed the latest developments in shipbuilding, offshore engineering and the shipping industry.
 The 3rd Matchmaking with Chinese Shipbuilding & Offshore Industry cum Overseas Ship-owners and Chinese Shipyards Matchmaking Meeting
The match-making was co-sponsored by China Shipowners’ Association and The Indonesian National Ship owner’s Association. The ambition of the Organization Committee was to build a trade platform for the entire Chinese and international shipbuilding industry. The Matchmaking event was held in a manner of "one-to-one" negotiation. The event was attended by 55 ship owners, 29 Shipyards (including Zhenjiang Shipyard, Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding, Ch Rongsheng, Jinling Shipyard, Wujiazui Shipyard, New Century Shipbuilding, Huahai Heavy Industry, Tongfang Jiangxin Shipbuilding, 25 ship brokers (including MIMCO, Intermodal, Grand China Ship Leasing, Far East International Leasing) and 96 Chinese and overseas equipment suppliers (including ABB, ANDRITZ and WARTSILA).
 China Forum on the Development of Fishing Boat Equipment and Technology
China Forum on the Development of Fishing Boat Equipment and Technology, sponsored by Register of Fishing Vessel of the People's Republic of China, was successfully held on May 23 at the Parkview Dingshan Hotel. Chief Economist of MOA, Ms. Zhang Yuxiang, Director of Fishing Bureau of MOA, Mr. Zhao Xingwu, Director of the Register of Fishing Vessels of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Liu Zheng, Deputy Director, Mr. Xin Deli, Deputy Director, Mr. Shen Jianrong, Deputy Director of the 2nd Department of Work Safety Supervision, State Administration of Work Safety, Mr. Guan Shanyue attended the forum. During the forum, the report of “National Safety and Technical Conditions of Marine Fishing Boats” and the results of the first standardized fishing boat models’ selection were released. In-depth discussions were held about the application of new technology, new energy, new equipment and new materials for fishing boat equipment and technology. Also standardization of China’s fishing boats and energy saving were discussed.
 INSA Trade Mission to Jingjiang Shipyards
A delegation of 43 Indonesian ship owners was organized by the Indonesia National Ship owners Association (INSA). They paid a special visit to Jingjiang shipyards on May 23-24 and had direct contact with local leading shipyards, including New Century Shipbuilding, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and Jiangsu East Heavy Industry. It is the largest ship owners delegation INSA has ever organized. It was also the first time that the Organization Committee organized ship owners delegation to visit local shipyards. The purpose of the Organization Committee was to offer INSA members new business opportunities with leading shipyards. Obviously, from the positive feedbacks from both ship owners and shipyards, this aim has been reached.
 HME Trade Mission
A group of Holland marine equipment suppliers organized by HME paid a visit to Rongsheng Heavy Industry, Daoda Heavy Industry, Changqingsha Shipyard, Gangzha Shipping Manufacturing, Keppel Nantong and other big shipyards in Nantong on May 26-28. HME, as one of world’s leading associations of marine equipment, has brought advanced technology and high-tech equipment to Nantong shipyards. From the perspective of local shipyards, they gained the opportunity to meet overseas suppliers at their home base. Technology exchange and trade negotiation went smoothly between both sides.

This year CIMPS-Europort has again succeeded in establishing direct contact between Marine shipbuilders, suppliers and ship owners from Indonesia. No less then 43 delegates from INSA visited CIMPS-Europort 2012. This is the largest group of Indonesian ship owners to visit a maritime trade fair outside Indonesia. We hope to have even more success in the near future and we will visit CIMPS-Europort with our delegation again next year.

We are the largest producer of twin progressive cavity pumps in the world. We presented a pump model in our stand and met with many shipyards, ship owners and agents from Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Liaoning and Guandong.
